How The Built With Amiga Software Campaign Website Was Made.I just thought I'd create this page to let you know which pieces of Amiga software were used to bring you this campaign, in the hopes that it might be of use or interest to somebody.Creating The HTMLThe main workhorse used when actually writing these pages is GoldEd 4 with the WWW Publishing Extensions. However, this is not the whole story, because extensive use is made of hsc - every single one of these pages has been run through hsc. This makes it much easier to maintain a consistent style and also makes my future plans for the site much easier to implement (you'll just have to wait and see what they are!) Creating The GraphicsAll of the graphics which Internetcreated for this site were created in ImageFX 1.5. Cloanto's PersonalPaint 7 was also used, especially for the finishing touches of converting to PNG format and also to make the GIFs progressive. The freeware giftrans was used to turn the GIFs into transparant GIFs (from which the transparent PNGs were generated). As an aside, Internetintend to move away from GIFs completely, just as soon as I can figure out a way to overcome some pretty severe bugs in Netscape 4 and Internet Explorer... Thanks must go to all the people who created and submitted link-logos, and also to Stu for creating the rather nice BWA title logo (done on his Amiga). Getting The Site OnlineOnce the pages were ready, they were uploaded to the Internet via FTPMount and DOpus 4 (which sat on top of AmiTCP 4.3).Validating The HTMLThere were two stages to the validation of the pages.
So there you have it. A complete run-down of all the Amiga software which was used to bring you the Built With Amiga Software campaign - I hope it was of some interest to you.
One thing I should probably mention about this point is that all of the software
mentioned above is purely my own personal preference - the Built With Amiga Software
campaign makes no recommendations or endorsements of any software, and no
such recommendations or endorsements should be inferred from this (or any other) page.
